I
love photographs and want to share mine with you. Here you can
see a progression in my own garden as I learn the tricks of the
trade in Garden Design and put to practice the things I have learned
over the years growing up with an expert plantsman and horticulturist
my Dad - Richard
Fulcher. I am in the process of an endeavour to create a wonderful
space for relaxation and colour in the surrounds of my own home.
After recently moving to Fontmell Magna, I have been emmersed
into the task of managing, designing and planting a much bigger
garden from what I was previously used to at Fairlane, Shaftesbury.
Brookfield has an acre of land surrounding the house, much of
which is trees and lawn with a substantial back garden. Take a
look at the photo gallery and watch how the garden progresses
since we moved in 2009.
An
important factor for me when creating my garden is to ensure it
will encourage wild animals, birds and insects. There was an already
well established wildlife pond which I want to keep and enhance.
and the garden was already there underneath the weeds and grass
which had grown some 3ft over the previous Summer before we moved
in so defining the garden boundries was the first challenge.
There
are also albums of the places I have visited and shows I have
been involved in with my father's business Pine Cottage Plants.

My
father Dick Fulcher is a distinguished plantsman. He runs Pine
Cottage plants with my Mum Lorna and they exhibit their plants
at various shows throughout the UK including the Hampton Court
Flower Show in July. This is always a great time full of inspiration
and a chance to share information about Agapanthus and other more
rare or unusual plants.
For
information on Agapanthus - The african Lily of Love visit www.pcplants.co.uk
or visit the nursery in Eggesford, Devon where the Nation Collection
of Agapanthus is held.
