Fairlane Spring, Summer and Autumn 2008
The Garden has looked tatty and overgrown this year. After having
baby James in January I have not had a chance to get out there
and do anything. However, despite this, the effort I went to planting
bulbs and new plants last year rewarded me with some early colour.
In mid March I also noted some frog spawn in the pond and the
blue tits used the nest box again this year. The Stipa Gigantia
both in the front and the back garden looked fantastic, as did
the Fox gloves and the grasses. The Acacia is shading the garden
a little too much and will have to be pruned hard this year. One
exciting thing that happened this year was that the back garden
won second place in the Shaftesbury in Bloom Competition in the
Most secluded back garden category.
